Educational Evaluator (EdEval) is an office automation tool used to collect information for New York Early Intervention (EI) and Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) bilingual and monolingual educational evaluations and detailed Social History reports. EdEval 2.0 consists of an Excel spreadsheet and several customized Word report templates. This web page is meant to provide an overview of the program and its use in generating customized evaluation reports. See new Special Offer below.
EdEval can be used to collect information on the child being evaluated and their care givers. This information includes background, ethnicity, languages spoken, EI services received, medical history (including birth history), behavioral observations, and developmental milestones.
EdEval also collects information that allows it to score and determine age equivalence in the areas of Cognitive, Communication, Social-Emotional, Physical Development (Motor), and Adaptive Behavior skills. In order to do this, EdEval automates reporting of the following assessment tools:
q Developmental Assessment of Young Children (DAYC)* — Includes all five (5) domains Cognitive, Communications, Motor, Social Emotional and Adaptive. Includes support for inclusion in the summary for Cognitive and Communications tasks. Motor skills are separated into Fine and Gross Motor skills. In this release, DAYC results generate complete sentences, including your own comments. q Hawaii Early Learning Profile (HELP) Strands* — Includes Cognitve and Language domains. Preferred by EI over the HELP Checklist, this new version now allows for more detailed testing for EI evaluations. Also includes the Regulatory / Sensory strand. New in this release, the statements have all been corrected for tense and gender, and they also generate complete sentences in the report.
